Duties
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing and insurance claims
- Greet and check-in patients, collect medical history information, and update patient charts
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and respiration rate
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Provide patient education on medication instructions, diet and exercise recommendations, and general healthcare information
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred
- Certification as a medical assistant is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and medical coding software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills to manage patient schedules and maintain accurate records
- Ability to handle confidential patient information with sensitivity and professionalism
